Builder gel is the UV/LED gel that gives gel nails their structure: it overlays the natural nail, builds the apex and allows extensions on forms or tips. Elegelli builder gel is self-leveling, doses with a press of its 30 mL compressed-air jar, cures in 60 seconds under LED (120 under UV) and wears for more than 28 days. Like every Elegelli formula it is HEMA-free and TPO-free, and made in France.

Builder gel, hard gel, BIAB or polygel: what is the difference?
Hard gel for nails is the strongest option and files off; soft or soak-off builder gel, the builder in a bottle known as BIAB, is thinner and dissolves in acetone; polygel nails are a hybrid between acrylic and gel, shaped with a brush dipped in slip solution, and polygel does not level on its own. Elegelli builder gel is a self-leveling hard builder gel in a jar: taken straight from the pot, it settles into a smooth surface by itself and can be controlled to the millimeter to sculpt the apex, then it files off rather than soaking off. Compared with acrylic, there is no monomer, no odor and no rush: the gel only cures under the lamp. It is the reference for overlays, strengthening and extensions in the salon, with filing kept to a minimum.
Builder gel on natural nails: overlays and strengthening
On natural nails, a thin layer of builder gel is enough for an overlay: overlay nails strengthen thin or brittle nails without any extension. The result stays natural and the nail is protected between two appointments; a fill every three to four weeks maintains it as the nail grows. For a more flexible reinforcement choose a rubber base; for length, work the builder gel on a form or a tip. In both cases prepare the nail with a dehydrator and primer if needed and a thin layer of base coat, cure each layer for 60 seconds under LED and finish with a top coat.

How do you remove builder gel?
Removal is mechanical, with a file or an e-file, never by picking the product off: that is what keeps the natural nail intact. Elegelli builder gel does not soak off in acetone, unlike gel polish. A cordless nail drill makes removals and fills faster.
Does builder gel ruin your nails?
No, when it is applied and removed properly. What damages the nail is picking the gel off, over-filing, or a rushed removal.
